Having lived in this rural area for over 40 years, I have seen the landscape and way of life drastically change. I moved here to raise my children in a peaceful and serene environment, free from the hustle and bustle of city life. My family, including my children's father, was raised here long before me, at a time when we didn't have to worry about crime and the closest neighbor was more than half a mile away. Things were simpler, safer, and slower.

Today, everything is different. Our once quiet roads are now dangerous with people speeding down our unmaintained dirt roads at 60-70 miles per hour. This reckless behavior has resulted in the death of many animals and even incidents of theft and random shooting. The rural tranquility we cherished is being erased by relentless urban sprawl.

Our wells are drying up; we're being forced to dig deeper in hopes of finding water, a vital resource we've always taken for granted. The schools, designed to cater to a rural population, cannot handle the surge in students. The infrastructure of our small-town community was never meant to support such growth.

We're not against growth, but it needs to be sustainable and considerate of the community that has called this place home for generations. The authorities need to enforce stricter control on urban development in our area. We call on local government to implement regulations that limit the number of new developments and preserve the rural character of our region.

This petition aims to urge local planning boards to consider the environmental impact, strain on existing resources, and the overall well-being of current residents before approving new construction projects. We must protect our way of life and ensure that this rural area remains a sanctuary for those who seek solace away from the city.
