The Issue

We, the undersigned residents of Lysander, are increasingly concerned about the rising incidence of graffiti in our community. This vandalism not only detracts from the beauty of our town but also poses challenges to public safety and community pride.
We respectfully request that the Town Board consider the following actions:
 1. Establishment of a Graffiti Removal Program: Implement a town-sponsored initiative for the prompt removal of graffiti, ensuring that our public spaces remain clean and welcoming.
 2. Accountability Measures for Underage Offenders: Introduce a law that holds parents or guardians financially responsible for the actions of their minor children caught engaging in graffiti vandalism. This could include fines or community service requirements that encourage accountability and discourage future offenses. 3. Educating Baldwinsville youth on the impact unsightly graffiti has on the beautification of our community and encourage artistic or mural painting.
We believe that by taking these actions, we can foster a safer and more aesthetically pleasing environment for all residents and visitors in Lysander.
