Our neighborhood has long been a sanctuary for geese, ducks, and turkeys. These creatures land on our pond every morning and leave in the evening, becoming a part of our daily lives and a source of joy for the residents who've come to love and feed them. Our neighbor sits with a gun at our fence line and wait's for them to fly in or for them to leave and then shoots them. 😭😭😭

Recently, a new neighbor moved in and began shooting at these innocent animals from his property, disrupting their migration patterns and causing a disturbance amongst our community. This not only harms our beloved birds, but it also disrupts the local natural ecosystem. According to the National Parks Service, geese, ducks, and turkeys play an essential role in ecological processes, such as seed dispersal and pest control. Moreover, such behavior infringes on the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, which makes it illegal to hunt, capture or kill migratory birds, such as geese without permission.

This petition is not just about the geese we feed, but it's about respecting wildlife, our environment, and the community we cherish.
