Stop unfair eviction over feeding pigeons link
The Issue
For over six years, I've been caring for the local pigeons in the side bit of the council's communal garden in Oldchurch Gardens, Romford. Feeding these pigeons has become a part of my life, a small but meaningful way to connect with nature and contribute positively to my community. However, this peaceful pastime has led to an unjust predicament: I'm now facing eviction from my home due to feeding these birds.
The main individual behind this action is Yasmin Smith, a resident at number 4 Oldchurch Gardens, who has bullied me for years. Despite receiving two verbal warnings and a written warning from the council for her behavior, she continues to create issues for me. The council officer, Ade, voiced an opinion that pigeons were unwelcome and should "fly away to drink water." Such disregard for these creatures and my voluntary work in tidying up the garden is disheartening.
Until now, I even paid for the upkeep of part of the garden, ensuring that it remained clean and pleasant for all to use. Yet, due to this eviction threat, I've had to cease my contributions, which feels unfair and unnecessary.
This issue is more than just about being forced from my home; it's about standing up against bullying, protecting the quiet enjoyment of my living space, and valuing all living creatures. Feeding these pigeons should not be a cause for conflict. It should be embraced as part of the communal spirit that any neighborhood thrives on.
Your signature on this petition is a statement that we should protect our rights to personal enjoyment, stand against bullying, and act in harmony with nature. Together, we can show that acts of kindness towards animals and maintaining peaceful relations among neighbors should be encouraged rather than punished. Please, sign this petition to stop this eviction and support a compassionate approach to community living. This is hovering council I suffer from mental health problems and also epilepsy,Copd and arthritis these pigeons help my mind more then ever each day they bring happiness I want hovering council to let me keep my home and a space in the garden where I can carry on looking after them my family I can’t lose them I beg whoever reads this save the pigeons to pls link change.or stop unfair eviction over feeding pigeons
