STOP SEPARATISM
STOP AUTHORITARIAN MANDATES
STOP REA TE KAKANO
Foreword:
This petition, is by no means about questioning the importance of the Maori culture throughout New Zealand’s history, its traditions, its identity, and its people . Because it is unquestionably important. It is a petition about standing up to the startling new normality of undemocratic government mandates and initiatives. In some cases, basically force-feeding Te Reo Māori, and Māori rights into every facet of our society. Fed to us under the guise of sympathetic, ‘woke’, and politically correct government policies.
Subtly and more frequently, ludicrous authoritarian changes are being made around us. Each change, coming at the tax payers expense, and each one stripping away more of our freedom to choose. Completely contradicting what it means to be a democratic developed nation.
One fresh example, was within the Real Estate industry. The REA (Real Estate Authority) announced a change to mandatory topics for all Licensed Real Estate Agents to complete in order to maintain their Real Estate Licenses.
Every year, an agent must complete 10 hours verifiable training from a licensed authority.
This year, a mandatory topic making up 15% of the total hours, which must be paid for and completed by agents, was amended and announced to be, "Te-Kakano". Which is run in partnership with specialist provider, ‘Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi’.
In other words, forcing Māori Inclusion into Real Estate Training, for a portion of transactions that make up, a roughly estimated 0.001% of all transactions, and which 99.99% of professionals will never participate in, run by newly partnered organisations, and funded by tax payers.
If Agents did not fund and complete this course they risked losing their real estate licence and their ability to continue in their profession.
Please sign up if you agree this mandate, and mandates like it, not only need to be stopped, but more importantly, IDENTIFY WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CONCEPTION, AND WHETHER IT WAS LEGALLY AUTHORISED.
If you do support the petition, please share it with as many people as you’re comfortable sharing it with.
By making a small contribution, we can unite as ‘one people’, and we can increase this petition’s exposure, therefore giving it the strength it deserves.
