At UNC Asheville's recent Faculty and Staff Meeting with the chancellor of the university (Dr. Kimberly van Noort) announced that due to budgeting issues and declining enrollment, the decision will likely be made to fire ALL Adjunct Professors. This news comes as UNC Greensboro announced they will be ending five undergraduate majors, three undergraduate minors/certificates/course offerings and 12 graduate programs.

     This news is incredibly shocking to many professors because the work load of many of the adjunct professors will now fall back on the other professors in that department. If the news from Greensboro tells us anything, it's that that exact same thing has a likely chance of happening to our university if this plan continues how it is. The Chancellor in her newest email talks a lot about the university's deficit but fails to mention her exorbitant base salary of $300,000 a year.
