Stop Unauthorized Sexual Education in Schools!

Stop Unauthorized Sexual Education in Schools!
The Issue
As a former public school student and now parent, I remember a time when delicate subjects such as sexual relations or orientations were considered adult topics and reserved for age-appropriate discussions outside the learning environment. The focus within the classroom was on the scientific aspect of anatomy, emphasizing the functions of various organs. It is no secret that the landscape has shifted dramatically and parents are now concerned about their young children being exposed to comprehensive sexual education in an unauthorized manner.
From signing slips for holiday parties to approval for field trips, parents have always been included in their children's educational experiences. Yet, the same courtesy is not extended when it comes to teaching sexual relations in schools. This omission is strikingly incongruous with the principle of inclusion and consent that should underscore all aspects of education. We need to stop public schools from trying to implement core beliefs in our children that they should only be taught at home if the parents CHOOSE to do so.
Moreover, the secretive and unquestioned integration of subjects such as LGBTQ education in the curriculum robs parents of their right to maintain the innocence and age-appropriateness of information for their children. We respect the need for inclusive education and accept the importance of understanding the diversity of sexual orientations. However, these sensitive topics should be introduced tactfully, respecting the cultural, religious, and personal beliefs of families, as well as the age and cognitive development of children. Considering for example, the same way non-religious families have choice to opt out of/not sign PERMISSION slips for religious holiday parties etc we as parents should also be informed and given the option to opt out of any sexual teachings.
The school curriculum should primarily focus on imparting knowledge that broadens children's perspectives and develops their intellectual capabilities. The teaching of subjects such as sexual relations should be approached with greater discretion, with the required parental consent and age-appropriateness. Let's put an end to this surreptitious indoctrination and restore the school's primary role, which is to provide a strong foundation for children's future success, not to sow confusion. At the end of the day these children will grow into adults that will make their own choices, sexual orientation does not need to be taught. They should be teaching ABC’s not LGBTQ.
Every child has a right to a safe and inclusive learning environment free from premature exposure to adult content. As concerned citizens, we call upon educational policymakers and institutions to revise and regulate the teaching of sexual education in schools, ensuring it is appropriate, authorized, and respectful of parental rights.
Your signature can make a difference. Please help us advocate for the rights of children and parents choice in schools. End the corruption of our young children’s minds and distrust between parents and public schooling. Sign this petition today our children’s futures depend on it!
