I am currently being trolled by an account on TikTok. This account claims to be helping me, but instead, they are creating distress and violating my privacy. The owner of this account, or individuals they send, enter the live streams I join and take screen recordings and screenshots of these sessions. These actions are compromising the safety and privacy of live sessions on TikTok. This invasion of privacy not only disrupts the experience but also makes lives unsaveable.

To address these issues, TikTok must urgently implement stricter measures to prevent users from screen recording or taking screenshots of live streams. If users are doing so from the For You Page (FYP) or from inside a live session, it must be detectable and preventable. TikTok needs to ensure that its platform remains a safe space for all users and to protect them from unauthorized data capture and misuse.

We also demand TikTok to enhance their systems to identify and block troll accounts that engage in deceptive and harmful behaviors. The platform’s current response often deems such actions as non-violating despite clear evidence of harassment and privacy breaches.

TikTok, we call on you to update your app features by blocking screen recording and screenshot capabilities during live sessions, provide effective reporting tools, and maintain accountability. These changes will help protect users experiencing trolling and privacy abuse.
