Stop UK Government's Unjust Censorship

Stop UK Government's Unjust Censorship
The Issue
As a citizen in the UK, I feel as though we are being forced to have censorship. The government is taking advantage of its power and is unjustly taking websites away from us. Specifically, the Online Safety Act (OSA) imposes unwarranted restrictions on platforms like Civitai, branding them under a broad stroke of 'pornographic censorship.' This legislation serves no positive purpose and instead impedes our freedom to use and see what we should be allowed to.
Civitai, and other similar sites, are creative platforms that empower individuals with the freedom to explore and share digital content. They foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing—a right that should not be curtailed by draconian measures. The labelling of these sites as 'unsafe' merely due to their open and diverse content undermines the essence of a free and informed society.
The OSA, while purporting to protect, overreaches into the domain of personal liberties. It disregards the intelligent discretion of adults to discern and decide what is appropriate for their own online consumption. This blanket censorship is ineffective and stifles our right to information and expression.
Urge the UK government to revisit the OSA with the intention of protecting liberties and ensuring a balanced approach that does not sacrifice for the sake of censorship and greed
Sign this petition to lift the unfair restrictions imposed by the OSA and reclaim our right to free and diverse access to information. Together, we can make a change.
