University of Minnesota Alumn have been granted their university email (@umn.edu) for life, if they choose to use it. However, the University has decided to revoke this benefit from Alumni by the end of the year. 

What this means is that Alumni who have been using this email account will no longer have access to it at all. Emails in it will be lost; access to their Google drive will end; and we will be forced to move to a different email account. Some of the perks we have received are:

-Unlimited storage in Google Drive

-Heighten security in our accounts

-Access to University tools, articles, and websites that require a University email (like the link explaining this decision)

Before the University moves forward with this decision, please sign this petition and contact the Board of Regents, alumni relations offices, and IT departments at your alma mater campus.
