Stop Tumblr from Destroying Their Disordered Users

Stop Tumblr from Destroying Their Disordered Users
The Issue
Like most social media platforms, Tumblr has restrictions against eating disorders, but instead of giving warnings or simply restricting accounts, they terminate all accounts associated with eating disorders.
Let's get real- most of the people with eating disorders on Tumblr are adults that usually do not have access to the help they need or have been denied help for the disorder. Most of us are not "pro ana" or promoting eating disorders [and even if someone wanted to, there are sites to do that on and the edblr community looks down upon people who promote], but sharing our feelings and anguish in the only place we kind of can before getting terminated.
When our blog gets terminated it causes a rush of awful feelings and believe it or not, has negative impact on our already horrible mental health- showing us that it's "not okay" to have an eating disorder and the feelings surrounding one.
Overall, the adults on Tumblr that struggle with an eating disorder want nothing more than a community where they can relate and share experiences to. A place where we feel comfortable and not alienated by outsiders looking in.
A policy change is in order. Tumblr should allow adults with eating disorders a place of safety in a world that demonizes our disorders enough. We are sick of being terminated for a disorder we did not ask for.
