Stop Trump’s Plan to Open Alaska’s Wild Lands to Oil Drilling

Stop Trump’s Plan to Open Alaska’s Wild Lands to Oil Drilling
The Issue
The Trump administration just announced plans to eliminate key environmental protections across millions of acres of Alaska’s wilderness—paving the way for oil drilling and mining in one of the last untouched ecosystems in America.
The National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska is home to polar bears, caribou, millions of migratory birds, and other wildlife. These lands are not just breathtaking—they are fragile, sacred, and essential to global climate stability. But now, fossil fuel companies could be handed the keys to destroy it.
This isn’t just an attack on wildlife. Alaska is warming two to three times faster than the rest of the planet. Thawing permafrost, melting sea ice, and vanishing food sources are already upending life for Indigenous communities who depend on the land. Opening this area to drilling would only pour more fuel on the fire.
We cannot let a short-term agenda for fossil fuel profits erase protections that took decades to secure. We’re calling on Congress and the Department of the Interior to reject this devastating and reckless repeal and preserve the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska—for wildlife, for future generations, and for the health of our planet.
Add your name to defend one of America’s last great wild places before it’s gone.
