Stop Traffic Deaths and Serious Injuries - Show your support for initiatives in Parker, CO

The Issue

Over 40,000 Americans are killed in roadway crashes each year with millions more seriously injured. Traffic deaths include drivers, passengers, vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians, and other roadway users. In Parker, CO we have seen over 700 crashes in 2024 alone and over 10 lives lost to crashes in the last five years. These deaths were preventable.

We need to take action now.  Families are losing their loved ones and parents are burying their children.

We are asking for the Town of Parker to implement simple, effective, proven tools that can stop these preventable deaths and injuries.

  1. Install automated traffic enforcement cameras for speed and red light runners at the three highest volume intersections along Highway 83 (Parker Rd). Federal Highway Administration data shows a 54% reduction in crashes with a 47% reduction in fatalities/serious injury.
  2. Increase crosswalk times at the intersection of Highway 83 (Parker Rd) and Main St during peak usage times.
  3. A Vision Zero commitment implemented by the Town of Parker.
  4. Update road signage from "Share the Road" to the more current and approved "3 Feet to Pass” sign for cyclists as stated by Colorado State Law.

Your support of these initiatives will help ensure there are active steps being taken to stop this tragic loss of life.
