On March 22nd, 2023, Charlie Kirk, founder of TPUSA, is holding the "Live Free Tour" at Ohio State University where he is speaking about "American values." We must oppose the normalization of bigots attending US college campuses at every step. 

Turning Point USA is a conservative organization that serves to consolidate the ideological dominance of US imperialism, capitalism, white supremacy, and heteronormativity. TPUSA claims to be a "grass-roots" and non-profit organization that is wholly non-partisan, but is connected to a large web of politicians and corporations who fund and support them through donations. 

TPUSA advocates for things like "free speech" and "academic freedom," yet actively pushes back against non-right-wing messaging that doesn't meet their agenda. One example of this is their "Progressive Professor Watch List," where they outline information of progressive and left-leaning college professors, encouraging people to dox and harass them. This has actively resulted in several professors losing their jobs. TPUSA seeks to remain trendy with their events and propaganda, often hoping to bait local activists into actions against them in order to prove that they are in the right. 

TPUSA actively brands its campaigns around anti-vax, anti-LGBTQ+, and pro-life movements, playing the "definition game" where they defend pushback against these stances with phrases like "pro-freedom" and "anti-government." They also produce false reports like "victims of leftist violence" to coax ill-informed people into supporting them, often causing violent confrontations and stepping back without being held responsible. 

TPUSA's founder Charlie Kirk has connections to Donald Trump Jr., where he would often "hang out" with him at Mar-a-Lago and use it as a fundraising venue. He also has connections to Donors Trust, a conservative/libertarian dark money fund that routinely gives millions to organizations like the Heritage Foundation, NRA, PragerU, etc. 

Charlie Kirk worked closely with former TPUSA campus director Adam Hageman, who was sentenced to 66 months in jail for possession of child pornography. 

We must oppose bigots like Charlie Kirk and the groups that support them. TPUSA Ohio State is just one of many organizations under his umbrella that seeks to spread misinformation, hate, and propaganda to impressionable college students. We must fight back against their prejudice and propaganda via active participation: mobilizing and organizing (via social justice organizations) against the forces of white supremacy, imperialism, and heteronormativity. We are stronger when we work together to better our communities. We are stronger when we look after the most disadvantaged people, who are often targeted by groups like TPUSA. There is no time to waste.  

If you are an OSU student, join us March 22nd at 6pm on west side of Ohio Union to protest their event. Let us combat TPUSA, and their ill-ideology that justifies racism, sexism, and homophobia! We must show them that we will defend our neighborhood, and no hate speech can get pass us!
