UPDATE: Commissioner Alex Fernandez spoke to the towing company, and apparently they have committed to using dollies for the tows, which should not set off the alarm systems. I hope this is true, and I'm super impressed with the responsiveness of some of our commissioners on this. Big appreciation for the speedy attention! I will keep this petition live for the time being, just to make sure the problem is solved.

Tremont Towing has a deal with the ownership of the parking lot at 6424 Collins Ave, Miami Beach (North Beach). Whereas all other lots only ticket when people's meters run out, this lot tows. And they will tow at all hours: 7am on a Sunday, 3am on a Wednesday, etc. 

The issue is that when they tow, many cars have a honking mechanism, and this honking will go on for several minutes. This is incredibly loud and wakes up hundreds of residents in buildings surrounding this lot: people who have to wake up at 6am for work, babies who finally fell asleep, and all the rest of us who just want to get a night's sleep! Sometimes, the car horns are going off every hour, keeping us up all night long. It is impossible to get a night's rest unless we get lucky enough that the cars they happen to tow that night are old and do not have a honking mechanism. 

THIS MUST STOP! 

The tow company and the parking lot owners want to make a few hundred bucks at the expense of hundreds of residents' sleep. It's not fair. There must be limits to towing hours in residential areas such as this. Otherwise, all of us are doomed to a life of sleepless nights.
