STOP Toronto's CNE from exhibiting live animals ("The Farm")

STOP Toronto's CNE from exhibiting live animals ("The Farm")
The Issue
at the expense of animals confined and on display suffering inhumane conditions during Toronto's highest summer temperatures for over two weeks with minimal sustenance and ventilation.
____________________________________________________________________
My name is Hannah. Like most Torontonians- I see the CNE as a celebration of the end of summer. When I visited this year, I was shocked to discover animal cruelty on display. This is what I saw and why the CNE needs to STOP exhibiting live animals "The Farm".
STOP EXHIBITING LIVE ANIMALS at Toronto's CNE "THE FARM" EXHIBIT
Toronto's CNE exhibit "The Farm" is out-of-date and unethical.
WHY?
(Click links for proof documented 2016)
1. Toronto's CNE does not accurately or ethically "showcase trends in urban agriculture"
- Mother pigs on display suffering in outdated gestation crates that allow them so little room they are unable to turn around or even touch their babies.
- Gestation crates have been banned in Canada and are not an accurate example of current "trends in urban agriculture"
2. Toronto's CNE "daily cow milking demonstrations" are not ethical and cause baby calves to suffer.
- Baby calves left starving and begging for food while mother cows are being milked in the next room.
3. It is wrong to keep animals detained and on display under such isolated and confined conditions.
- Animals at the CNE suffer for over two weeks (Aug. 19- Sep. 5) during Toronto's highest temperatures of the summer and are provided with minimal ventilation and sustenance
5. It is unethical to have suffering pigs on display while encouraging CNE attendees to eat them and their babies.
6. Toronto's CNE "The Farm" exhibit is an advantageous portrayal of the lies meat and dairy industries want you to believe in order for them to continue to profit off the torture and death of animals.
