Yesterday we lodged our petition of 23,744 signatures with Bega Valley Shire Council.
Council have said that they need more clarity from the NSW Government about how Tiny Homes on Wheels fit within existing planning frameworks. Our petition only asks that while we all wait for that clarity, Council don’t take any actions that effectively evict residents of Tiny Homes on Wheels.
We really hope that Bega Valley Shire Council moves forward with some compassion- and that they see the huge community support for this common sense moratorium.
It has a joy to feel supported by so many many of you: so, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for signing our petition.
We all know we desperately need solutions during this housing crisis. Tiny Homes on Wheels are one of the most simple, sustainable, low-cost, and quickly-deployed solutions that we already have.
Tiny homes on wheels are a solution, we’re not going to let our Council turn them into a problem. Time for a moratorium.
If you want support our calls for a moratorium even more, please email Bega Valley Shire Council: council@begavalley.nsw.gov.au
Thank you again - it means the world to us.
