On July 15 we lodged our petition of 23,744 signatures with Bega Valley Shire Council...
... and on Wednesday August 20, councillors will vote on our petition for a moratorium on Tiny Home on Wheels evictions until a clear, safe, and legal pathway is created with the NSW Government.
Before the vote, we need to show Council that this petition isn’t just a piece of paper with signatures. It represents thousands of real people demanding compassion during the current housing crisis.
We're asking you to stand with us and support our petition during the Council meeting:
📍 Where: Bega Valley Shire Council Offices, Zingel Place, Bega
🕒 When: Wednesday August 20, from 12pm - 3pm (can for a little or as long as you can!)
👥 Who: Everyone who believes housing is a human right
Showing up to this meeting really matters:
- Council needs to see that supporters of this petition are community members, not just names on a petition.
- A strong public turnout sends a clear message to keep people housed while solutions are created.
- Your support will give confidence to councillors who want to back this but need to see the community behind them.
Bring friends. Bring signs. Bring your belief that our community can choose compassion.
Let’s pack the room and make sure the Bega Valley chooses housing, dignity, and hope over eviction.
See you there.
