On September 17, 2024 the village board voted to approve tax incremental district #2 for Rib Mountain, WI. Tax incremental districts are areas that the village has deemed in need of development and infrastructure.  These TID districts are funded by taxpayers and are a serious detriment. 

The result of the TID would hold taxpayers responsible to fund unwanted infrastructure. This could also result in residents being forced to tie into city sewer and water or being displaced altogether. The residents affected are retired, elderly, single income households, and hardworking families. Many of these residents have lived in the village their whole lives. The outcome would place residents in devastating financial crisis and many would be forced to sell or surrender their homes. The residents have expressed their discontent, but the city council is moving forward regardless.
