Let me start by saying that I know the land is not a beautiful landscape,  but it was. We used to have open land and places for our children to explore. Many families, including ours, have cherished the tranquility and beauty of our community for generations. It’s a place where children play freely in open spaces, where our community's attachment to nature is nurtured, and where the majestic Bald Eagles have found sanctuary amidst us. That has been destroyed and is continuing to be destroyed. 

Our environment is under threat by plans to develop a massive 1-million-square-foot warehouse for the clothing rental giant, Nuuly, at 700 Penn Valley Road. The proposed development requires the land to undergo a zoning change from its current agricultural and light industrial designation to a materials processing and manufacturing district. The Falls Township Board of Supervisors has already authorized advertising this zoning change—a decision that could drastically alter the fabric of our beloved community.

The potential consequences of proceeding with this plan are deeply concerning. Such a large-scale industrial development poses an immediate risk to local biodiversity, particularly the Bald Eagles, which are sensitive to habitat disruption. The construction and operation of a warehouse of this magnitude also threaten to harm our children's health by increasing traffic congestion, air pollution, and noise levels.

Furthermore, this project ignores the needs and voices of the residents who believe in preserving the character and environment of Falls Township. Our community deserves better than to become yet another industrial hub. We demand sustainable development practices that protect our residents, our environment, and our children's future.

We call upon the Falls Township Board of Supervisors to reconsider and halt this zoning change ordinance. Instead, we urge them to engage in genuine discussions with community members to explore alternative solutions that align with the township's long-term vision for sustainable growth and environmental stewardship.
