Stop the Windmills (Innergex) Farm in Nulki Hills, Vanderhoof, BC

Stop the Windmills (Innergex) Farm in Nulki Hills, Vanderhoof, BC
The Issue
My 80-year-old father, a pillar of our community in Vanderhoof, BC, owns a cherished cabin and a registered trapline right where the proposed windmill project is set to be built. As the headman of our territory, he, along with 35 other men, has dedicated his life to preserving our way of living, our community's traditions, and the natural beauty surrounding us.
The introduction of these windmills threatens not just his trapline but potentially alters the lives of our family, friends, and neighbors. It's not only about structures on the landscape; it's about the intangible loss of a way of life passed down through generations. Our local wildlife, including various bird species, will be disturbed and displaced, having adverse effects on biodiversity and our environment. The vibrancy of our landscapes, which have been home to countless people and animals, will be irreparably harmed.
While we understand the importance of renewable energy, it should not come at the expense of disrupting existing communities and ecosystems. Alternative locations for these windmills must be explored, ones that don't compromise our ancestors' lands or the store of natural habitats existing here in Vanderhoof.
Our appeal is urgent. This undertaking will forever change the character of our land, a land steeped in rich cultural and environmental heritage. We need your support to halt the windmill project in its current form and encourage stakeholders to work together on more suitable plans.
Please stand with us, protect our community, and preserve the natural beauty of Vanderhoof. Sign our petition to stop the construction of windmills in the proposed location.
