I emailed Premier Chris Minns office recently to state our case regarding the proposed route for the pipeline that will rip up the heart of Newington.

Caine Mertens the SW project director sent the standard response with the addition of the following below.

Hopefully residential people power comes into play here. On the advice of an attorney I was told as a community we should continue to push back against the proposed route of the pipeline.

Response to the EIS

More than 400 submissions were received during the EIS exhibition period and are

available to view on the DPHI Planning Portal.

Sydney Water will now review the submissions and prepare a Response to Submissions

Report, which will be published on DPHI’s portal once approved later in 2026.

Should significant change to the project’s scope be proposed as a result of public

feedback, Sydney Water will prepare an EIS Amendment Report and undertake further

engagement to gather additional community and stakeholder input.
