I spoke with Donna Davis, State MP for Parramatta this afternoon and she mentioned being equally disappointed at the lack of communication from Sydney Water regarding the proposed wastewater pipeline. She has since met with officials online at the end of last week.
She has advised best course of action is to individually lodge submissions through the NSW Planning site:
We need to express in our responses the flow-on effect to the community / the long-term effects this construction would have on our community.
Donna said she would lodge an extension from the March 11th deadline for submissions and we are trying to set up a meeting for Newington residents to decide our best course of action in these submissions to ensure we are all heard and we can reroute the pipeline outside of our suburb.
I realise this is a process but we need to fight this ill-conceived wastewater pipeline pathway that Sydney Water is proposing that will have damaging effects on our suburb.
