At the minimum the Braselton Area should see a pause in approvals of new warehouse and distribution centers. With this petition we want to let our elected officials at the city and county levels to cease approvals. There is a great need for a new discussion with all of the residents in the area concerning zoning and future use. We as a community continue to see a new warehouse, distribution center etc coming into the Braselton area ( mainly right around exit 129 vicinity).  These new developments do not mix with what our citizens were expecting when they moved into the area. Our area deserves to have a mixed blend of development between commercial, office/ retail and residential. To have a balanced economy  in the area we need to make sure we have a balance in development.  There is a place for these developments and it can be done in a certain way.  The image in the top of this petition reflects Town of Braselton zoning ( red is commercial and light green is industrial)  but I would also go out and take a look at the Jackson County zoning maps at this link http://www.jacksoncountygov.com/Index.aspx?page=328 .  Until we have a honest discussion with the population of West Jackson and Braselton any new warehouses and distribution centers have to stop.
