Stop The War Against Feral Cats In Australia.

The Issue

The Australian government is aiming to cull all feral cats.

This wouldn't happen if maybe they funded veterinarians, shelters and rescues. Also they should be urging people to keep their cats inside and also to desex them to prevent kittens ending up on the streets like they do.

If more things were put in place, instead of straight up culling them, then they likely wouldn't feel the need to cull at all. They should be mandating that all cats stay inside, are desexed, and give more funding to the places actually HELPING these cats get off the streets.

Its unfair to kill them just for their animal instincts, and its a common misconception that feral cats cannot be tamed. They absolutely can with time and patience.

Imagine if your cat was an indoor cat, and got out and is lost, they'd be killed too, for being outside and lost!

I do care for the endangered animals due to 'cats' (more-so bad peoples fault for letting their cats out and or dumping them) but the straight up hatred towards them is very unfair. It's their instincts.

They are implementing a new system that is a camera that detects when a cat is going past, and it shoots them with a poisonous bullet. Upon licking the wound, they ingest the poison, resulting in a very, very painful death. This is also dangerous to other animals that could easily be mistaken

This needs to stop, and better methods should be implemented instead of these cruel, unnecessary ones.

The image is one of the cats involved in the cull on the Stockton Breakwall, which was very unnecessary as the cats were being helped.
