PTC Community Notice:

As the new fiscal year begins, you may see reduced support, slower scheduling, or hear rumors about possible hour cuts.

In the city’s FY 2026–27 budget, PP&R assumed USTA would take over tennis programming, even though City Council has not approved that partnership. Because of that assumption, PP&R reduced several staff positions on paper — including front desk, recreation leaders, program coordinators, and maintenance.

This creates a staffing gap that affects daily operations, which is why these rumors started. Nothing has been decided yet.

The next couple of months are critical. If you want PTC fully staffed and open without USTA involvement — keeping PTC public, accessible, and affordable for all players — you can respectfully share your concerns with City Council or PP&R leadership as soon as possible.
