People are hearing rumors and getting worried, so here is the short, factual update:
1. There is no decision yet.
Nothing has been approved. Nothing is final.
2. Five different city departments must approve any USTA proposal:
- Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R)
- City Budget Office
- City Attorney’s Office
- Public Process / Community Input
- City Council
3. If any one of these says NO, the deal dies.
This is why nothing is decided yet.
4. PP&R’s mission protects affordability, discounts, and public access.
This is a strong reason they may say no.
5. Players don’t need to panic — just stay informed.
PTC is not closing. PTC is not out of money. PTC is still under PP&R today.
