The UK Goverment have agreed to use a bee-killing pesticide 'thiamethoxam' on sugar beet in England. This pesticide has been banned in all of Europe since 2018. For the second year running, the Goverment has gone against scientific advisors in making this decision.

As well as harming bees and other polinators, this pesticide could get into rivers and damage our aquatic life too. When the goverment want to stop pollution, why are they using pollutive chemicals that will go into our rivers?

Studies have shown that even a minute exposure of Neonicotinoids (NNs) can lower bees' ability to forage and navigate, meaning terrible consequensces for them and their colonies. An even more recent study has produced the evidence that even one exposure to these bee-harming terrors will affect their ability to produce offspring. This prouces threats to our future, as bees live for less than a year anyway and we will not have enough pollinators to help pollinate our crops. Sadly, this means that it will be harder for farmers to grow crops which leads to a lack of resorces in England.

If many people sign up to save the bees, we could get Boris Johnson and other ministers to listen, and finally recieve justice for the bees. By banning this pesticide, we will save bees' futures aswell as ours. If this petition is left to rot in a hole, more bees, aquatic life, and other polinators will die out leaving us with almost nothing to call 'our world' .
