Stop the Use of a Local Wigan house into a House of Multiple Occupation for Ex-Prisoners

Stop the Use of a Local Wigan house into a House of Multiple Occupation for Ex-Prisoners
The Issue
For over 20 years, my family and I have called this lovely, peaceful neighborhood our home. Like us, many families - young and old, new and generations-old - have created a warm, tight-knit community here. Today, we learned that CM Properties and NACRO plans to convert a residential property in our area into a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO). This facility is meant to house individuals who recently came out of prison for drug-related crimes.
There was no prior notice, no consultation, and above all, no consideration for the concerns of this community.
The property is at 17 Beech Hall Street, Wigan, WN6 7HX
The disturbing aspect is that this is set to happen next week!
It is well-documented that integration of ex-prisoners into society is crucial for their rehabilitation. However, such swift action and abruptly placing them in a quiet residential area without any community involvement is inappropriate. The process should involve the community, providing us with an opportunity to understand, contribute, and prepare for such a major change.
We must bring this issue to light. We request a proper consultation process, active community involvement, and at the least, consider more suitable locations for the HMO.
We plead with you to stand with us as we contest this sudden and drastic decision. Our community deserves the right to be consulted and heard. By signing this petition, we can show strong community opposition to NACRO's plan. Let's unite and make our voices heard. Please, sign and share this petition.
