The local residents, nature enthusiasts, and visitors are witnessing the steady decline of various tree species in this park, turning the area into a desert. The unregulated logging is causing serious environmental implications. According to the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, trees significantly contribute to reducing pollutants in the air by as much as 75-85%(source: KSPCB). Without them, Bangalore, celebrated as the Garden City, might face a severe increase in air pollution and subsequent health issues amongst its residents. An immediate halt to the deforestation activities in Jayanagar Park is essential to preserving the local ecosystem and the quality of life of Bangalore's citizens.
