The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) has approved a staggering 45% increase in water rates for Sedona residents — despite a judge’s ruling in our favor and a formal objection from our City Council.

This rate hike was driven in part by a request from a small group of residents in an upscale neighborhood — without input or consent from the vast majority of our community. The so-called “improvements” include cosmetic tank housing enhancements, not critical infrastructure repairs.

For many Sedona families, retirees, and fixed-income households, this increase will cause real financial strain. It will also discourage watering of plants and trees — increasing our already severe fire risk.

We, the residents of Sedona and concerned supporters, demand that the ACC:
1. Reverse this unjust rate hike
2. Respect the judge’s ruling in Sedona’s favor
3. Ensure meaningful public input before making future rate decisions
