Stop the UK Government from passing the Illegal Migration Bill 2023!

The Issue

The UK Government's Illegal Migration Bill 2023 is a clear act of injustice and racism against asylum-seekers and refugees, who are seeking safe passage to escape war, conflict and poverty in their home countries.

Every human being, regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, cultural background, has a right to safe passage and seek asylum in the UK. It is a fundamental human right, and the UK's Illegal Migration Bill is criminalising migrants entering into the UK who are looking to seek asylum and safety. Rather than being provided with protection, the asylum seekers would be subject to detention in the UK, and removed to another country (i.e. Rwanda, as per the Migration Plan announced on 14 April 2022).

The UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) has raised their concerns and issued the below statement in response to the UK's Illegal Migration Bill:

"This would be a clear breach of the Refugee Convention and would undermine a longstanding, humanitarian tradition of which the British people are rightly proud."

We need justice and equity for all. We need the UK to provide a safe passage of entry for all migrants fleeing their countries of war, poverty and corruption. Instead of stopping migrant Channel crossings, the UK government need to step up and issue asylum seekers visas and safe passage into the UK, where their claims can be heard in a fair and just court.

STOP the UK's Illegal Migration Bill 2023 from passing - we all have the power to affect change.
