We received copies of Town Pumps sign permits that they furnished to Missoula County. They applied for 2, 100-ft tall, steel pylon signs with digital text. The permit requests are currently on hold. While we do not know for sure why, it looks as though they may be changing sign manufacturers. For perspective of how tall a 100-foot sign is, the historic Wilma, in downtown Missoula, is 103 feet tall. This will be a fantastic addition, and will surely fit right in with a small rural community. It seems likely that Town Pump would be trying to attract as many trucker and travelers off of the interstate as possible with a sign that may be able to be seen from Coeur De' Alene. Feel free to share your thoughts on signs that are 100 feet tall to our local Senators, Denley Loge 406 544-5220 denley.loge@legmt.gov, or Curtis Cochran 406 280-0081 curtis.cochran@legmt.gov. This is the first thing that Town Pump has applied for, and it seems every step or idea of theirs will continue to shock and appall me. It is very apparent that Town Pump has no idea or care what the Frenchtown community need or wants.
