Galgos are used as hunting dogs and abused brutally when they do not perform to the standards of their masters. 100,000 galgos and podencos are brutally murdered for sport each year, and their masters are facing no punishment. Their owners dispose of them by skinning them, burying them alive, pouring acid on them, throwing them down wells and dumping them on busy roads. These dogs need our help giving them the voice they do not have.

During hunting seasons they are starved to make them more eager to hunt for their owners, and somethings tied to cars and forced to run to keep up with them as they drive at speeds up to 60 mph. The stronger of these dogs are kept in crowded kennels where they are given minimal food because their owners do not care or want to waste their money on them. They punish the dogs brutally when they do not execute ideally. However, the Spanish government completely ignores it and does not prosecute the abuse they are very aware of.
