Stop the Threats Around the Karmelo Anthony Trial

Stop the Threats Around the Karmelo Anthony Trial
The Issue
As the murder case against Texas teen Karmelo Anthony moves forward, escalating threats and harassment are putting his entire family at risk and threatening the fairness of the trial itself.
In recent days, the Anthony family has been bombarded with death threats, loiterers outside their home, and even staged food deliveries intended to provoke fear. Protesters have held rallies in Frisco invoking racially charged language, stoking outrage in a case that is still unfolding in the courts.
Karmelo has been released on bond and, like any person accused of a crime, is entitled to due process. But his family’s safety is now in question. They’ve had to move to an undisclosed location, simply to avoid being terrorized for asserting their rights.
This isn’t justice, it’s mob intimidation. Public pressure and politicized protests shouldn’t be allowed to influence the outcome of any trial. We urge Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Governor Greg Abbott to publicly condemn the harassment and ensure protections are in place for all families involved.
Our justice system must be grounded in facts, not fear. Sign to demand safety, fairness, and due process in this high-profile case.
