The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has decided to impose a swearing ban on Formula One drivers, meaning they will be penalised when they use swear words in for example press conferences or over the team radio. It's a patronising rule for high-performance athletes who should not be thinking about which words they use while full of adrenaline or describing a situation to the press. Sport is emotion, it's part of the game. There is always the option to bleep it or simply not broadcast it, but it should not be up to the drivers. Also there are far more important issues in the sport for them to be worrying about. Let's get together as fans and give the drivers their freedom of speech back!
