We, the residents, taxpayers, and stakeholders of Libertyville, urge the Village Board of Trustees to reject the proposed development of the Suydam property. This project threatens to bring increased traffic congestion, parking shortages, and overcrowding in our schools, all without a clear plan, or even proper studies, to properly identify and address these critical issues. Libertyville’s infrastructure is already under strain, and allowing this development to move forward without responsible planning will negatively impact the quality of life for all residents. We must take action now to protect our community!

Additionally, there has been a disturbing lack of transparency regarding this project. Many residents have been left in the dark, and the developer has failed to provide adequate research or data to justify moving forward. Even more concerning, the project includes six deviations from existing zoning codes, setting a dangerous precedent that could weaken our town’s zoning laws and lead to future unchecked development. If we allow this to happen, what will stop other developers from disregarding the rules that are meant to protect our neighborhoods?
