Dear Supporter

Thank you for turning out in force at our rally to stop the supermarket on Saturday. It was very special to meet many of you in person and to hear more about why you are concerned about the supermarket development on our waterfront.

With more than 400 people taking part, we were even able to circle the whole proposed supermarket site.

See if you can spot yourself in this short video from the event.

Against the backdrop of the Clyde, local musicians filled the air with song while young people showcased their talents at making banners, as well as on the skatepark. The atmosphere was one of determination and hope, reflecting the spirit of the 4,000 residents who have already signed the petition opposing the supermarket development.

Please keep sharing the petition with your friends and family.

Helensburgh Community Council extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended. We were proud to stand alongside Helensburgh Skatepark Project, Cover Park Youth Project, and Rhu and Shandon Community Council.

Your presence sends a clear message to Argyll and Bute Council: our community’s voice matters, and we remain steadfast in our opposition to this inappropriate development.

The next Helensburgh Community Council meeting takes place this Thursday 31st October, 7pm in the Marriage Suite at the Civic Centre, East Clyde Street. The meeting is open to the public and everyone is welcome.

Best wishes,

Everyone at Helensburgh Community Council
