Petition in relation to Dog Amendment (Stop Puppy Farming) Bill 2020

We the undersigned hold the following concerns regarding the Dog Amendment (Stop Puppy Farming) Bill 2020 

·     We are opposed to the proposed bill in its current format.

The Bill is reliant on legislation that has yet to be finalised. 

(Standards and Guidelines for the Health and Welfare of Dogs in Western Australia)

The bill is unnecessary  The Animal Welfare ACT already has the power to stop puppy farming

We believe a lack of public understanding of the Bill resulted in small number of submissions considering the number of dog owners in Western Australia. 

Government is unable to commit to the exact costs E.G centralised registry system.

With the Bill not passing in the previous year due to overwhelming opposition, we feel that there are sufficient grounds to have the bill stopped.
