Petition to congress

As you well know  since the Mexico-Us border was reopened to cattle In September 2026, we have had an explosion of screw worm cases in southern New Mexico and Texas. When the border closed there were no new screw worm cases. 

According to the USDA at its peak screw worms killed roughly 180,000 head of cattle within a year. Just between Texas, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. The USDA estimates the eradication of screw worms saved the agricultural industry $900 million a year. 

if not controlled screw worm could affect any animal in the area. Not just cattle but dogs, cats, horses, wildlife, endangered species etc etc. 

We the people ask that you stop the importing of all types of cattle from Mexico until this issue is completely resolved.
