Here is what I wrote them

"Thanks, Janene,  I did want to let you know that we have almost 80 signatures to date about doing something about this. (https://chng.it/dVQMkZwmCL I did speak to Teala Cotter (she is CC’d on this response) and I understand that the city is waiting for budget approval. That being said, I still want to proceed forward in submitting an official request on behalf of myself and the 80 or so people who have signed the petition to inform the city about the ongoing dangerous conditions, as well as getting our issue put on the city council meeting agenda calendar in the future. I want to do this as a hedge against the possibility that the budget does not get approved or that our street does not get addressed in the near future. 

I understand a wait and see approach is easier for the city to get to it on their own schedule, but as I explained to Teala, I and the neighbors in our community are prepared to lobby the city to install traffic suppression even if we need to raise the funds ourselves to do so or sign an official petition sent out by the city. 

I want to be on record saying that our street is unsafe, I have evidence to prove it, and that is becoming more of a liability to the city every day nothing gets done. 

There was another accident just last week at the Cameo Dr./ Rancho Del Oro intersection 2 days after you replied to my email. It is a matter of time before a child is struck by a speeding car, and I intend to do everything I can along with my neighbors to ensure that we lessen the odds against something like this happening regardless of budget concerns or city planning/traffic safety planning bureaucracy and length of time to actually finish a project.

 Please let me know how I can go about submitting an official request and getting an agenda item put on a future city council meeting.
