All people arriving in the UK on small boats crossing the channel will be denied asylum in the UK. Anyone arriving on a boat will be denied asylum even when their asylum claims would be justified. According to the UN Human Rights Convention all people must have a fair hearing, regardless of how they arrive. This bill will criminalize people marginalized in our society who come from war torn countries without any hope and deny them their human right for asylum. This bill must be stopped as it is unloving, uncompassionate and goes against everything we uphold in our communities.
