As we know, Easter is coming and it's considered a tradition, at least in Italy, to eat lamb.

This petition is to stop the constant slaugthering and unnecessary killing of innocent babies, who should be hopping in the grass, instead of being in our stomachs.

This petition isn't meant to "make people go vegan", but it's simply to make people understand that it's not necessary to kill newborn animals, especially if milions of them die during Easter holidays only.

I may sound like a hypocrite, but the difference between killing adult animals and baby animals is that adults at least had a chance to live, to experience life, to grow up. Lambs who are meant to be only food from the start will never be able to do that, they don't even reach one year of life when they're killed and served on plates.

The statistics show that 2 milion lambs are killed each year which 375 thousands on Easter specifically, 2 milions babies who just came into the world, who's destiny was chosen by the very start.

I am Christian myself and I have never condoned this "tradition" as my Religion's goal is peace and love for everyone, protect those in need and it certantly does not include taking innocent's babies lives, as if they had no feelings at all.

They are exactly like children, they don't understand what's going on and since they are taken away from their mother so early, they are scared, just like children.

People make jokes about it, but they don't realize how serious the situation is. If you think about it, they are just like little kids, they don't know how to walk or speak well, they need their mom and protection, just like children, right? Then why must they be slaughetered without mercy and without even a little bit of pity? Why can't they be respected? Why don't they have the right to grow up and enjoy life at its best? When did we decide that we have to celebrate such a  beautiful day like Easter, in front of some tiny, tiny ribs that once belonged to a naive and small creature, who was probably so scared?

I honesly don't know if this petition will actually help that much, I don't even know if it will reach someone who really cares, but if it did, please sign this and please take part in this fight, because we could actually stop this madness and let those lambs be happy. It's always a good day to save lives and even if Easter is nearer and nearer, it's not too late to do something.

If you read until this point, sorry if it was long, but since a huge amount of poeple strictly believe that eating baby lambs is just a "tradition", I wanted to speak clearly in order to be understood. Of course, if you read until this point thank you personally, thank you with all my heart and thank you for caring and for being brave.

If we can get enough signs until the slaughtering begins, we might actually be able to do something and even if it sounds impossible, why not try? It's not too late for a miracle.

We need to do this, together, and we don't have much time. We only jave a few days, maybe, until all of the lambs will meet their fate, but if we do this in time more people will be aware of this, and one day we will be sure it'll stop completely.

They are not only "animals", they are not "food", they are lives, babies, innocent babies who only want to live happily, so, what right to we have to take that away from them?
