To our supporters old and new thank you for your continued and growing interest and support in our fight to protect Catalina Island Mule Deer from the brutal slaughter that the Catalina Island Conservancy continues to insist that, despite clear and resounding evidence to the contrary, is the only way to manage this valuable resource that belongs to us, the citizens of California. Recent vocal support from Los Angeles County Fire Department senior officials is sounding the alarm that this plan will INCREASE the danger that wildfire presents on Catalina Island. THIS is why process matters.  THIS is what we are fighting for!

Wednesday February 25th the Avalon community showed up big time for our latest community event held at the famous Lobster Trap here on the Island. Caleb Lins and his whole crew really provided a feast and we are very grateful for his continued support.  This fabulous evening was a resounding success which included a pasta dinner, raffle and speakers including Charles Whitwam from HOWL for Wildlife, producer of the recent bombshell documentary Killing Catalina which exposes the huge gaps in the Conservancy narrative regarding their plans.  If you haven't seen it check it out at howlforwildlife.org/catalinaisland.

We want to express special thanks to Al Wiscovitch, president of Oranco Bowman Archery.  He partnered with California Bowman Hunters (CBH)/State Archery Association (SAA), and Orange About Field Archery (OBFA) to present a huge donation of over $5000 to help us in our fight to save the deer and promote responsible decision making at the highest level for the health of Catalina Island and all of California

Why does this ask for financial support matter?   We are at a crucial point in this fight.  The Catalina Island Conservancy has been using their immense wealth and political influence to push through approval of this plan in a way that bypasses an important step in RESPONSIBLE decision making for the management of the wildlife on Catalina Island and all of California.  This is a fight for ALL wildlife decision making in the state.  This plan, if allowed to go forward, sets an unprecedented bypass of CEQA. This is the California Environmental Quality Act (1970). This is California law REQUIRING local and state agencies to identify, disclose, and mitigate potential significant environmental impacts of proposed actions BEFORE they are approved.  This fight really matters for ALL of California.  Help us act NOW!   We are asking for your support in the legal battle ahead.  Every donation counts.  It is each name added to this petition, each and every dollar raised that will help us at this crucial time. You can help by donating here at https://gofund.me/7fea7e06

Thank you again for your continued support.  We promise to keep you posted as this fight continues!!
