Friends!  We know that there have been LOTS of new developments and that you may have TONS of questions about what the heck is going on. We also know that you care and want to know what YOU can do to help save Catalina Island mule deer from the plans of the Catalina Island Conservancy to kill 100% of the deer on Catalina in spite of immense public outcry as well as serious questions about both the "science" and more importantly the rigorous legal protocols that SHOULD accompany such a drastic, unprecedented, and irrevocable plan that was recently approved by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.  They want us to believe that this is a "done deal". Well, we have news for them.  They have wanted us to believe that this was a "done deal" since we became aware of their latest plans to kill the deer in 2023 and we are STILL here to let them know that this is decidedly NOT the case.  Join us for an exciting evening of great food (Thank YOU Lobster Trap!) and a chance to learn about what the Conservancy has been up to in the interim between our public outcry FORCING them to abandon aerial hunting and the recent approval of a newly created "Restoration Management Permit".  We know.  It can all be confusing!!  We are here to help explain the facts and to ask for your continued help in fighting for the deer.  We are so grateful to all those who have contributed to our Go Fund Me campaign.  It's been crucial to our success.  That we have managed to stop their plans from already succeeding is due to YOUR support.  We are entering a new phase of the fight, and we invite you to join us.  Thankfully we have a fabulous and growing coalition of partners all working together to hold the Catalina Island Conservancy and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife accountable to a process that is actually transparent and thorough.

For those of you who can attend, please do!  We will have a fabulous pasta dinner, raffle, shirt sales, and tons of current and accurate information to keep you updated and encouraged.  For those unable to attend the recent premier of the Howl for Wildlife documentary "Killing Catalina" we are so excited to host Charles Whitwam for a casual Q & A.  Please check out this in-depth documentary on You Tube if you haven't had the chance.  It's worth the watch!  We will be posting between now and our event to continue to keep you informed of this quickly evolving story.  And watch for exciting news about our new online store for merchandise and further opportunities for you to support this cause we all feel so passionately about.  We hope to see you there!
