New Mills Sports Hall - Let High Peak Borough Council know what you think!
Hi there,
Thank you so much for signing the petition to stop the sports hall at New Mills Leisure Centre from being substantially reduced in size. In only a week, we now have over 500 signatures, which is a great response. We hope that our High Peak Borough Councillors are taking note.
However, the sports hall, and also the squash court, are still very much at risk. That’s why we’d like to ask you to come and get involved with the next step of the campaign.
This evening (Wednesday 21st) there is a High Peak Borough Council meeting at which the future of New Mills Leisure Centre facilities will be discussed.
Can you join us tonight at 6.30 in a peaceful gathering outside of the council meeting?
We hope that you can make it - you just need to bring yourself along and a banner (if you have time to make one). We intend to show our opposition to both the down-sizing of the sports hall and the removal of the squash court.
We know it's a lot to ask, but we really believe that this could make a difference - the changes are much less likely to be pushed through if there is clear public opposition.
If you can join us, please meet us tonight outside the Arts Centre in the Pavilion Gardens at 6.30 pm.
The Arts Centre can be accessed from St John’s Rd or the Park - please meet us on the park side. The nearest car park is the Pavilion Gardens Car Park - SK17 9AR.
We hope to see you there,
Maurice McCabe
