Fellow Stonebridge residents,

Since our last communication know, many continue to reach out to the Stonebridge Community Association with no respectful reciprocation or replies.

Since the post-vote update, the group presented a proposal to the Stonebridge Community Association and City Councillors that would  fully satisfy the pro-levy/tax group promises. With no surprise, the Stonebridge Community Association and three local Councillors (Jan Harder, Scott Moffatt, Carolann Meehan) forcefully rejected it without explanation.

The proposal would have reduced the proposed the $7M levy by more than half, guarantee the golf course for 20 years, and have it professionally managed by an external golf course operator; NONE of which the SCA/Councillor proposal offers to the community apart from PAYING A TAX for a minimum of 9 years with NO promise of receiving the land.

Additionally, the levy/tax SCA/Councillors initially proposed may be higher than stated through out their numerous misleading information sessions.

Add to this, Mayor Watson, Councillors, and SCA are aggressively moving this levy/tax forward. It is thought they are desperate for additional unencumbered revenue from this tax to compensate the City's loss of revenue amid the COVID19 virus shut down and troubles with the LRT. This clearly demonstrates the City's lack of compassion to burden Stonebridge resident when many are in dire financial circumstances during this unprecedented situation. 

Please question the propaganda and misleading information being spread by the Stonebridge Community Association and their supporters. Opposing the levy does not mean you or this movement is "anti green space" or "anti golf-course". These are simply untrue and lies.

Everyone wants to maintain our community. And many have presented much better and more economical suggestions to the SCA and Councillors, although they continue to deny this fact. There is something very wrong with their proposal and position and it is why you SHOULD be very WORRIED.
