The Issue

As someone who hikes, camps, overlands through the wild backroads of our country, I know firsthand that America’s public lands—our forests, deserts, mountains, and open spaces—are more than just places on a map. They are where we find freedom, connection, peace, and purpose.

The “Big Beautiful Bill” threatens all of that.

Hidden beneath a patriotic title, this bill opens the door to the widespread sale of our shared lands—U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management lands that belong to all of us. Once sold, they’re gone forever. Paved, fenced off, developed. No more remote campsites. No more trails to explore. No more freedom to roam.

This is about more than land. It’s about identity. It’s about preserving access for generations to come—so our kids and grandkids can experience the same raw, unfiltered beauty we’ve been lucky enough to know.

We cannot afford to stay silent. Sign the petition. Let your voice echo across the canyons and forests we love. Together, we can protect what truly makes America beautiful—our wild places.
