Every year, hundreds of unwanted rabbits find their way into rescue centers — or worse, are abandoned in outdoor areas where survival is slim. This painful reality, personal to us, is largely a product of pet shops and breeders selling unneutered rabbits to the unsuspecting public. The consequence is a boom in rabbit populations, stretching rescue resources and abandoning many rabbits to their ill-fated ends.

In the UK alone, it is estimated that around 35,000 rabbits are taken into rescue centers every year (source: Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund - RWAF). Something must be done to stem the tide of the silent suffering of our beloved pets.

The solution? We demand that pet shops and breeders be prohibited from selling unneutered rabbits to the public. By passing legislation that requires the spaying and neutering of all rabbits before sale, we can significantly reduce the overpopulation problem and give these harmless creatures a fighting chance for a safe, loving home.
