On March 23, 2025, 23andMe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (Case No. 25-40976, Eastern District of Missouri), triggering a court-supervised sale process scheduled to begin June 17th. This sale includes the genetic profiles of more than 15 million Americans—over half of which have already been exposed in a series of cyberattacks, now circulating on dark web forums and reportedly listed as targets on extremist and terrorist networks.

This is not just a privacy concern. This is an assault on the root of our personhood: our unique biological identity.

🔬 What’s at Stake:

• Your DNA could be copied, sold, and modified without consent
• It could be used to implicate you at a crime scene, to train AI to predict your behavior, or to create precision-targeted bioweapons
• You could be excluded from healthcare or jobs based on unauthorized genomic profiling

⚖️ We Demand:

1. An immediate Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) to halt the data sale
2. Approval of the 23andMine constitutional cooperative bid to protect the data
3. Formal recognition of DNA as both inseparable from personhood and as personal, constitutionally protected property
4. Signing the proposed Genomic Data Protection Act (GDPA) into US Federal law (introduced by Senate, March 2025)
